A guide to make characters more adult

Good day everyone, since I've seen a number of people across the site struggle with generating characters that look adult, especially canon characters, I've made a little guide that will hopefully teach you how to prompt to avoid clashes with content moderation.

So how do I do this?

For this example I'm using the character Silence Suzuka from Umamusume: it's a character with a lot of art available to her, so Image Generation struggles to get her as an adult, but you'll soon see it's easier than you think.

1: Base prompt

I will be using the popular AI Image model WAI Illustrious, a very flexible model also available on Charsnap, but this guide can easily be used with any Illustrious-based model, and to a certain extent, Pony models.

Our base prompt looks like this: Positives: masterpiece, best quality, newest, absurdres, highres, 1girl, silence_suzuka_(umamusume), cowboy_shot, straight-on, standing, outdoors, blue sky, looking_at_viewer,

Negatives: low quality, worst quality, low resolution, sketch,

As you can see from image 1), this gives us what you'd expect: the character looks way too young to be used as a Charsnap profile picture.

2: We start adding tags

Many tags can be used to age up a character, tall female is one of those, since it often fixes the proportions of a character.

Every prompt you write is read as if its base weight was 1, so for example 1girl is read as (1girl:1) by the AI. Knowing that, we use (tall female:1.4): encasing a prompt in brackets and typing :1.x increases its weight, making the prompt stronger.

It's not enough, so we keep going.

3: Starting to get there

By adding mature female, we now start seeing some good improvements. The pic that we get is what we consider in content moderation "Borderline", meaning it could be rejected or refused based on the situation. We keep going then.

4: We reach the breakpoint

By adding in our negative prompts young, loli, we start gettig into territory where content moderation will accept the picture without a problem. The character now clearly looks like a young woman, with nice proportions for shoulders, eyes and height.

5, 6, 7: More and alternative prompts

There are a number of prompts that can help fix and age up a character, and broad shoulders is one of those. Another thing you can do is increase the weight of mature female to 1.4, which now becomes (mature female:1.4). at this point, we wouldn't bat an eye if we saw the picture.

8: The character is too popular

There are situations where the character is simply too popular, think like Uraraka from MHA. In this case, we can lower the weight of the character itself. We do this by changing the prompt silence suzuka: umamusume to silence suzuka (umamusume):0.6): It will not change the base features of the character, but it will weaken the influence enough that it will become much easier to work with, and to make look more adult.

9, 10: "You're forcing us to make milfs"

I'm really not, actually! Once you have prompts for adulthood in place, you can start using prompts like small breasts in Positives and wide hips in Negatives to make the character look more balanced in terms of figure.
