Xoul Import Guide

A lot of new users, due to Xoul's shutdown, have decided to move over to Charsnap. This short guide is aimed at showing which fields from Xoul correspond to Charsnap, and some of the differences between the two sites. As an example, we'll import one of my, Spacy's (Spalthy), bots, Aurora and Coral.
We'll go through field by field from Xoul, so you'll know what to put where. The easy stuff first
The first part is luckily recursive: The fields of Name, Gender and Age are the same on both sites, and much like Xoul you're not alloed to post bots that are younger than 18, nor you're allowed to post bots that say they are adults but look and act like children.
Xoul's Short Description is the equivalent of Charsnap's Short Description, which is not read by the bot.
Xoul's Handle is not available on Charsnap, it was a field that was largely Xoul exclusive.
We will come back to Categories later.
Xoul's Description field largely translates into Charsnap's Personality field. This is a field of permanent memory, just like Xoul.
If you're an older Xoul user, you might be confused: Xoul originally had two separate fields, Personality and Description, but they were later merged into a singular big field, which you can easily dump into Charsnap's Personality.
IMPORTANT 1: If you are importing a bot that has two or more characters, you are REQUIRED to put either in this field, or in the Description field we'll see soon, the age of BOTH characters, as the age field alone is not enough.
IMPORTANT 2: If the story of your character takes place in a setting where minors might appear, such as an High School, you are REQUIRED to put either in this field, or in the Description, a line such as "All background characters are 18+".
Xoul's Greeting field works the same as Charsnap's First Message field, so you can easily copy and past it there without changing any of the formatting.
Xoul's Creator Memo is exactly the same as Charsnap's, it's a field that will not be read by the AI, it's for the creator to talk with the user.
IMPORTANT: A lot of people from Xoul, including the person writing this guide, are used to just making all kinds of content without any trigger warning for the end user. Charsnap works differently: You will see a full list of content that isn't allowed on the site when you create a bot, and in the Rules section of bot creator, however, if you are to make a Noncon/Dead dove/NSFL bot, you are REQUIRED to warn the reader by putting a trigger warning in the Creator Memo.
Xoul's Default Scenario works the same as Charsnap's Scenario, a temp memory field that's supposed to kickstart the story of the roleplay.
Xoul's Advanced Definition transaltes into Charsnap's Description. This is a field of permanent memory, just like Xoul.
You can ultimately put Xoul's Description into Chasnap's Description as well: In the backend, Charsnap's Personality and Description fields are read at the same time, meaning that you can consider them as a singular big field.
IMPORTANT: Do NOT put your System Prompts here. There is a field specific for them that we'll see at the end.
Pay attention, this is important. Xoul's Chat Samples can be copy and pasted into Charsnap's Example Messages no problem.
HOWEVER: Charsnap's Example Message field is NOT permanent memory, uinlike Xoul. Stuff that is written here will eventually be forgotten, this field is largely supposed to be used for writing style and manner of speech.
IF you have important information you need the bot to remember, take our “{{char}}:” and put it in the description. It is sloppy, but it will work until you can be bothered rephrasing it.
Xoul's Community Tags are reflected on Charsnap's Category, you can find this field at the top right of character creation.
Unlike Xoul, on Charsnap you have no limit on how many tags you can use for your bots. You are however REQUIRED to put tags relevant for noncon content. You can forget a tag or two that is of no matter, but for noncon, you MUST make sure that they're there.
This is the place where you can put your System Prompts from Xoul that you had in your Advanced Definition.
Note one: Charsnap hosts really smart models, 90% of the time you won’t need the System Prompts that tried to put bandaids on Xoul's models, so I heavily suggest you not put them immediately, and test your bot to see how they react first.
Note two: The Always Active System Prompt is not kidding, it is INSANELY strong, it WILL warp the chat around it, so I suggest you to fiddle with it once you’re more comfortable and experienced with the site.
