The Basics

CharSnap offers a plethora of different subscription tiers, and while it can be a bit overwhelming, this guide will hopefully clear things up a little bit so you can make an informed decision!

Before anything else, I would like to discuss a couple of things. First of all, before subscribing, you will find this button on the bottom of the sidebar:

After subscribing, however, this button disappears and you can only access the subscription page through your Settings.

You will need to click Change Plan to see the other plans, even if you don't plan on changing it.

As a secondary note, being subscribed to ANY TIER will give you access to extra profile decorations (with the ability to upload your own) and the ability to add custom gradient borders to your bots.

Border Gradients

To add a custom gradient to your bots like the ones below, edit the bot and find the "Character Border Colors/Gradients" field.

Pro-Tip: Pressing the eyedropper tool will allow you to pick a color from any active window on your desktop. The eyedropper tool REQUIRES A CHROMIUM BROWSER. Other browsers do not have the eyedropper tool; it is suggested that you use a chromium browser for CharSnap.

Profile Decoration

As for the extra profile decorations, you can change it by going to your Profile Settings and either uploading one or selecting one from the frames that are available.

You can create a profile decoration yourself by hand or by generating one via an AI generator and editing it to fit your needs. The below is the template, which is a large black circle on a transparent background. This is the exact size needed, including the canvas size, so please do not crop it!

An example of the prompt for AI generation is the following:

create a perfect circle with 2d decorations around it, white background, intended to be used as a frame for avatars, minimalist decorations, simple, cellshading, solid border

Once you've gotten your pretty border transparent and saved, you'll want to use any image program/app that lets you do multiple layers. Open the template of the black circle, then add the layer of your border. Resize and place it so that it's covering as much of the black circle as possible. Once satisfied, hide/remove the underlying template, save, and upload it to your Profile Decoration! Select it, Save Changes, refresh, and you're good to go!

You can add whatever you want at the end, such as cherry blossoms, snakes, hearts, etc. Get creative with it! Once you have your image, you'll want to erase the background to make it transparent. You can do this in a multitude of ways, but an easy online tool is .

Click on your profile image/name in the top right corner.
You can select two colors for this shifting gradient. People often pick colors that match the profile image of the bot or represent the character.
You can select a color from any window you have up, as shown in this gif.
