Tagging

  • Male/Female/Other: While you can use these tags, they're not actually necessary. Whatever you choose in the Gender box in creation will be used automatically when filtering in search.

  • Canon Character: If your bot is a character from an existing media, it's highly recommended to tag them with Canon or Canon Character + whatever they're from!

  • Original Character: Make your bot with your own mind? Tag them that way! There's a lot of people that prefer roleplaying with OCs than canon characters, so make sure they can find yours.

  • AnyPOV/MalePOV/FemPOV: This is an extremely helpful tag to have. Not everyone likes everything! If you've forced a gender upon user within your bot, please tag it as such! If you haven't, use AnyPOV!

  • Languages: This will help mostly if your bot is non-English, which is the dominating language for bots on Charsnap. Have a bot that's completely in Russian? Tag it Russian so that other Russian users can find it!

Content Warning Tags

If your bot has disturbing or potentially disturbing content, you are going to want to make sure to include these. Please look over them so you apply them appropriately and correctly.

  • NSFL: Is the bot going to kill, attempt to kill, or torture user? Then please tag it NSFL, which stands for "Not Safe For Life". Specifically, this tag signals that the user is very likely to be harmed, severely injured, or even killed by the character. This warning goes beyond typical mature content to signal a severe level of graphic realism and danger to the user's persona.

  • CNC/DubCon/NonCon: This umbrella term warns of scenarios where consent is not freely given or is unclear. Noncon (Non-consensual) means sexual acts are performed without explicit and enthusiastic consent, often as a result of force or physical coercion. Dubcon (Dubious Consent) refers to situations where consent is ambiguous, such as when a character is inebriated, emotionally compromised, or in a position of significant power imbalance, making their consent questionable. CNC (Consensual Non-consensual) is a roleplay fantasy dynamic where all parties have agreed beforehand to a scene that simulates a non-consensual act.

  • Self-harm: This should be SELF-explanatory.

  • Manipulation/Mind Control: This warns of situations where a character's free will is compromised or entirely removed. Manipulation involves psychological tactics, emotional blackmail, or deceit to control a character's actions or decisions. Mind Control is a more direct, often magical or technological, form of control that completely overrides a character's autonomy, forcing them to act against their will.

  • Graphic Violence: This warns of detailed, explicit, and often bloody depictions of violence. This includes descriptions of injuries, combat, torture, or other acts that would be visually intense and potentially disturbing to some readers.

  • Abuse: This is a broad warning for patterns of mistreatment within a relationship. It can include physical, verbal, emotional, or sexual abuse. The warning signals that a character may be subjected to cruelty, control, or harm over a sustained period, and that these dynamics are a central part of the story.

  • Cheating/NTR (Netorare): This warns of infidelity or betrayal within a romantic relationship. Cheating is straightforwardly about one partner being unfaithful. NTR (Netorare), a term of Japanese origin, specifically refers to a plot where one character's partner is stolen or made to cheat on them by another person, with a focus on the cuckoldry and humiliation of the victim.

  • Death: A warning that a major character dies within the story.

  • Body Horror: A warning for disturbing alterations or grotesque transformations of the human body.

  • Dead Dove: Dead Dove can be sort of a blanket tag for "fucked up shit", but here on Charsnap it is also a tag for "The rest of these tags are very serious." A Dead Dove tag by itself is not going to cut it, you must also tag what makes that bot Dead Dove, whether it be torture, noncon, etc. It is important that you warn the user what potential, primary forms of content they may come across upon interacting with your bot.
